"Stærkt parfumeret, men tør riesling, intet spor af hverken sødme eller petroleum og ikke den mindste antydning af overmodenhed. Cool, salt, sorbetagtig friskhed, citronsorbet. Det er ikke alsace-tyngde, det er ikke mosel-finesse og skjult restsødme, men åbenbart østrigsk hjerteblod. “Ludwig Neumayer is one of my favorite Austrian white wine producers.” Robert Parkers WA - Stephan Reinhardt).

“Ludwig Neumayer is the man who put the Traisental on the map. A dignified winemaker, he gives the impression of having thought long and hard before making each wine. Everything seems to turn to gold in his hands.” Wines of the World

Philosophy
My wines stand for clarity, strength, and longevity. They should bring you joy. My craft is playing with nature. Nature provides the framework. I add my personal handwriting. Great white wines are characterized by the finest elegance, yet vibrant with strength and intensity. This balance is my benchmark as a winemaker. Limestone soil typically produces very light and crystal-clear wines with a lively acidity. Their fine balance makes them memorable. Due to the harsh conditions on meager stone soils, my wines are very late developing. They often only find their first equilibrium in late spring. As a result, however, they develop the highest longevity, which is rarely found in white wines.

Ried Rothenbart 1ÖTW
Our highest-altitude wines grow here - up to 380m above sea level. Iron and manganese give the soil their characteristic reddish color - hence the name "Rothenbart".
